THE
PROJECT
ServiceNow wanted to have a virtual reality experience available to customers and partners during the yearly Knowledge conference. I had approximately three weeks to get something together, so I decided to make a small lobby with an exterior park, where customers could get comfortable with the VR controls, learn more about VR, and discuss how it could be used in a corporate setting.
With Knowledge 22 taking place in four locations, we had to prep multiple headsets for each location.
SPATIAL.IO
With only three weeks to build an experience, we needed to rely on technology that already existed, so we decided to use Spatial.io to host the experience, which allowed for me to spend my time on the design of the space.
We chose Spatial.IO to host our experience, in part, due to its stability compared to similar platforms. This service also has both a VR and desktop version, which meant that both customers and admins of the space could engage with the content remotely.

VR TRAINING
While some users are experienced enough with VR to navigate around, others need a short tutorial to get comfortable with the VR controls. To help expedite the training process and ensure that users could reference the material both inside and out of the headset, I created a short, looping video that displayed both in the VR experience and looped on a screen prior to getting into the space.
